10 tips about ski equipment

The winter comes and with him the snow. We want to go to ski! We take the children or they go away with the school to enjoying of a white week. In this post we will give you some advices to dress the children adequately when they go away to the snow. We will indicate you, from our experience as you can spend a good day of skiing warm and comfortable.

Ski equipment differs in soft material and hard material. The soft material is everyone that as the name says is soft: ski jacket, sweaters, thermal clothing, fleeces, ski pants, gloves, hat, pants, neck scarf, ski overall ... that is all the technique would call ski clothes. And when we talk of hard material we refer to skis, helmets, sticks, goggles, ... etc.

 

We have to bear in mind that the child that is going to ski is going to realize sport, therefore, he/she is going to move and sweat. It is not advisable to dress him or her in excess; the ideal is to be dressed in layers of technical ski clothes. Though it is hot they must not remove the gloves, long sleeves and helmet as they protect us from the burns and blows that can cause the snow in case of fall.

 

From the head to the feet, what do we wear? Ski material we need for a ski day

 

1) Helmet: it must be well fastened well, must be neither small nor big, just to our measure, and we must always wear fastened.

2) Sun cream, we have to protect ourselves from the Sun. In High Mountain the radiation is very high.

4) ) At the top, ski clothing technique we will use is:

  1. a) A thermal garment as first layer, in contact with skin.
  2. b) A second layer is a jersey or polar.
  3. c) Finally, as a third layer or outer waterproof and protective ski jacket.

5) At the bottom we will:

  1. a) A thermal leggings (if very cold)
  2. b) The ski pants that protects us from fall and is waterproof.

6) Gloves or mittens. They must be waterproof and comfortable, offering mobility of the hand or of all fingers.

7) Boots. The subject we have to get along to avoid foot injuries can not be undone or out wide. They have to go right to the foot measurement loosely.

8) Socks. Avoid very thick socks. We recommend using thin socks and arriving just above the boot.

9) Skis and poles. Both shops and local van hire us to recommend measures and type of skis that need.

10) Above all, in the snow, common sense.
